Chesterfield vs Oldham Athletic AFC - Chesterfield should have Dan Gardner back for Oldham's visit

Dan Gardner is set to return for Chesterfield after missing their FA Cup win over FC United with a neck problem.

The midfielder has been an ever-present in the league for the Spireites and is expected to recover in time to face Oldham.

Sam Hird and Charlie Raglan are pushing for starts against Latics after missing the FC United clash.

Ollie Banks and Rai Simons came off the bench to score in the 4-1 win on Monday and could force their way into Dean Saunders' line-up.

Oldham can welcome back skipper Liam Kelly and loanee Jay Fulton for the trip.

Kelly served a one-game suspension for the FA Cup draw with Mansfield at the weekend while Fulton was denied permission from his parent club Swansea to feature.

Lee Croft is a doubt after coming off with a knock while defender James Wilson (ankle) will be assessed after returning to training this week.

Mike Jones' own ankle issue is not as bad as first feared and Jake Cassidy should be back in full training soon too after suffering an injury in the same area, but both remain sidelined along with Jonathan Forte (knee).
