Mesut Ozil has been in sensational form for Arsenal this season, and the German was at it again in the fixture against Tottenham on Sunday, creating seven chances, which was the most by any player in the Premier league.
Arsenal’s excellent Premier League winning run was ended at the weekend during the North London derby. The contest finished 1-1 thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Kieran Gibbs.
Gibbs’ equaliser for the Gunners in the second half came as a result of Ozil’s fantastic passing ability, as the 27-year-old created seven chances during the match; three more than any other Premier League player.
A host of talented players all created four opportunities, but none came close to Arsenal’s playmaker.
Ozil has enjoyed an excellent spell so far in the 2015/16 season, notching 10 assists already this campaign; the most of any player in the league.
In addition, only West Ham’s Dimitri Payet had played more key passes this term in the league before this weekend, but the former Real Madrid midfielder has now overtaken the Frenchman, and could pull even further ahead with Payet sustaining an injury against Everton.
Arsenal fans will be optimistic that their crucial midfielder will continue his excellent run after the international break. When they return to Premier League action, the Gunners take on West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on November 21st.
