Real Sociedad have confirmed the sacking of David Moyes as manager following a dismal start to the La Liga season.
La Real have won just two of their first 11 games of the campaign and are currently languishing just above the relegation zone.
Moyes was appointed manager back in November 2014, months after his ill-fated spell at Manchester United, but has failed to impress in the Spanish top-flight.
There had been numerous reports in recent weeks of the Scot's impending departure, but the club decided to pull the trigger following the defeat to Las Palmas on Friday.
"Real Sociedad have decided to terminate the contract of first team coach David Moyes. His assistant Billy McKinlay has also been released," a club statement read.
"The txuri urdin wishes to thank both David Moyes and Billy McKinlay for the contribution, professionalism and dedication they have shown during the course of their duties in the direction of the first team
"We wish them the best for their professional and personal future."
The club are expected to name former Barcelona B boss Eusebio Sacristan as Moyes' replacement.
