Barcelona's Neymar admits amazing move was something he'd planned

Barcelona star Neymar says that things are coming off for him at the moment, while speaking after he scored one of the goals of the La Liga season so far in leading his side to a 3-0 win over Villarreal at the Camp Nou on Sunday afternoon.

Villarreal played very well for the first hour, but Neymar shot the blaugrana in front from Sergio Busquets' super assist, and Luis Suarez soon converted a penalty after Munir El-Haddadi was fouled.

Then came Neymar's second of the game -- and 11th in 11 La Liga games this season. The Brazilian first played Suarez down the left wing, then raced 50 yards to take the return pass, flicked the ball over Villarreal defender Jaume Costa, pirouetted and volleyed the dropping ball into the net from 15 yards.

Asked on Canal Plus right after the game if the finish had been pre-planned, the 23-year-old said with a smile: "Yes, yes, I had thought of that move before. And it came off for me well."

Neymar also said he had been riled up by some decisions made by referee Carlos Clos Gomez, who had booked both him and Suarez for protests with the game at 0-0.

"The referee lost control of the game a bit, it got a bit heated," he said. "We cannot even talk or answer back. When we speak we get a yellow card. So we answer by playing on the pitch."

Since blaugrana talisman Lionel Messi was injured in late September, Neymar has scored 10 times and given six assists, while Suarez also has 10 goals and now four assists across 10 games in La Liga and the Champions League.

"We are going very well, we created a lot of chances during the game," Neymar said. "We played a very good game the whole team. We must keep going like this. We played a great game against Villarreal, a great team. I am very happy with what I am giving. But I believe I can keep improving."

The victory put Barca three points ahead of Real Madrid at the top of the Liga table, ahead of los Blancos' game at Sevilla later on Sunday evening. The two teams meet on Nov. 21 for the Clasico at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

"We must rest now in La Liga, think about the Clasico, but we also have to respond with our national teams," Neymar said.
