Corinthians: No Reds offer for Pato

Corinthians president Roberto de Andrade has denied speculation that Liverpool have negotiated a deal to sign Alexandre Pato in January.

The 26-year-old forward is nearing the end of his two-year loan spell with Brasileirao rivals Sao Paulo and has revealed his intentions to leave Brazil during the next transfer window.

Barcelona and Tottenham are amongst the clubs linked with a move for Pato, who spent five years in Europe at AC Milan before returning to his homeland in 2013, but the Tuttomercatoweb website reported on Saturday that the Reds had stolen a march on their counterparts.

However, De Andrade dismissed claims that Timao had reached an agreement with the Merseysiders over a January transfer for the Brazil international, telling SporTV: "Corinthians have received nothing. Nothing concrete has arrived."

De Andrade did not rule out Pato departing Arena Corinthians in the New Year and expects the former Rossoneri ace to return to Europe.

"I still think Pato is a great player, and I continue to be certain that we will negotiate a deal for the player on the European market," he added.
