Augsburg 1 - 2 Werder Bremen: Claudio Pizarro nets as Werder Bremen win at Bundesliga's bottom club Augsburg

Claudio Pizarro scored his first goal in 18 months as Werder Bremen piled the misery on the Bundesliga's bottom club Augsburg with a 2-1 win in Bavaria.
While Augsburg have got their act together in the Europa League, they are still lagging behind in the Bundesliga, where they had - and still have - only one win this season.
Pizarro struck in the 58th minute, turning in Santiago Garcia's cross first time for his 177th Bundesliga strike and his first in his third spell with Bremen.
Fin Bartels added a second midway through the second half with a powerful shot past Marwin Hitz, who could not keep the ball out despite getting his fingertips to it.
Theodor Gebre Selassie had to be carried from the field after losing consciousness when struck by his own goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald before a handball decision against Ulisses Garcia allowed Paul Verhaegh to bring the hosts back into the game with a stoppage-time penalty.
The time lost through Gebre Selassie's treatment and subsequent substitution meant the Bavarians still had some time to seek an equaliser, but it was not enough to avoid another defeat which left them five points adrift of safety for what will seem a very long international break.
