Crawley Town 1 - 2 Luton Town: Josh McQuoid fires Luton into FA Cup second round

Striker Josh McQuoid scored both goals as Luton clinched a 2-1 FA Cup first round win at fellow League Two side Crawley.

The Hatters went ahead when McQuoid drove home from 20 yards shortly after the break and, after Matt Harrold equalised, McQuoid had the final say by lashing the ball in left-footed into the top corner a minute from time.

Crawley striker Roarie Deacon put a deflected shot wide before Jimmy Smith fired over from the edge of the area, but the hosts' veteran keeper Darryl Flahavan came to his side`s rescue by producing a flying save to turn over a tremendous 25-yard drive from Jonathan Smith.

Jimmy Smith should have hit the target in the 28th minute when set up by Gwion Edwards, but wastefully drove an angled shot wide before Luton keeper Elliott Justham made a vital save to deny Murphy from more good work by Edwards.

The Hatters broke the deadlock eight minutes after the break when McQuoid beat Flahavan with a shot from 20 yards after Crawley skipper Sonny Bradley trod on the ball.

Crawley drew level on 64 minutes through striker Harrold who struck with a downward header in the middle of the goal following a cross by Simon Walton but McQuoid's late strike proved decisive.
