Raith Rovers vs Falkirk - Raith boss Ray McKinnon wants response after Livingston defeat

Raith manager Ray McKinnon has called on his players to respond to last week's 3-0 defeat at Livingston with a positive result at home against Falkirk on Saturday.

The comprehensive loss to the Lions came seven days after they went down 2-1 at home to Hibernian and McKinnon has called on his players to halt their two-game losing run, which follows three successive victories.

He said: "We were a bit flat and want to put that right. We started off well and had 3 good chances however the second half was not good enough.

"We are now facing a Falkirk side that have done well recently so cannot fell sorry for ourselves."

Raith, who are fourth in the Ladbrokes Championship standings, are without Craig Barr (groin) and Lewis Vaughan (knee) but Jon Daly is included despite agreeing to move to a coaching job at Hearts that will begin in January.

Third-placed Falkirk will look to open up a six-point gap on their hosts in the race for a play-off spot - but will have to do so without the services of knee injury victims Kieran Duffie and Tom Taiwo, while Lee Miller is doubtful.

"We showed a very clinical side to our game in the 3-0 win over St Mirren last weekend," Rovers boss Peter Houston said. "We also got the opening goal and that makes a huge difference in Championship games.

"Showing that edge again and getting in front will be crucial as Raith have been strong at home for most of the season. A decent advantage over them in the promotion race is a good prize."
