Forfar down to the bare bones for Airdrie visit

Forfar will be without up to seven players for the visit of Airdrie and manager Dick Campbell has added defender Michael Rose on loan from Aberdeen on an emergency loan to help.

Thomas O'Brien, Derek Young and Kerr Hay are suspended for the Loons, who also have Mark Baxter (ankle), Michael Travis (knee) and Lewis Allan (thigh) ruled out, while Michael Dunlop is struggling.

Campbell said: "We were down to 12 fit players so I was delighted to get Michael in. However, I am not looking for any excuses, I am looking for us to go out and win.

"We have been on a disappointing run and we intend to change that."

Airdrie look set to welcome Scott Smith back after a knee injury with only Jim Lister, who had surgery on a groin problem earlier this week, missing from manager Gary Bollan's plans.

Bollan said: "We drew with Albion Rovers at home last weekend which was a disappointing result made worse by the fact that I thought their equalising penalty was soft.

"It was, however, a big improvement on our performance against Peterhead the week before, where we were very poor.

"We passed the ball about well and we have a good platform to build on in terms of getting the three points from Forfar."
