Dunfermline are hopeful of welcoming Josh Falkingham back into the fold for Saturday's visit of Peterhead.

The midfielder did not feature throughout October but could be involved against the Blue Toon if he has no adverse reaction to his back problem having played for the development side on Thursday.

Callum Fordyce and Ryan Williamson both remain out with broken legs and manager Allan Johnston wants to his side to return to top-spot having been knocked off the summit by Ayr.

"It is frustrating to be second after drawing at Cowdenbeath but we have to take the opportunities that we create," he said.

"We are not losing many goals which is a positive however we have to test the opposition goalkeeper and look to score goals when we have the chance."

Meanwhile, Peterhead boss Jim McInally has said he will make changes to his side after they blew a three-goal lead at Stenhousemuir last weekend.

"We lost 4-3 as we failed to contain Jason Scotland for a 20 minute spell in the second half. Our confidence has taken a dent and I will make changes to help us try and get a good result at Dunfermline," he said.

McInally is hoping to add defender Jassem Sukar on loan from Dundee United before kick-off however he will be without the suspended Cammy Kerr as well as the injured pair of Jamie Stevenson (hamstring) and Ally Gilchrist (knee) with Nicky Riley also a major doubt.
