Brechin City vs Ayr Utd. - Brechin set to be unchanged against Ayr

Brechin player/manager Darren Dods is likely to name the same squad that defeated Forfar when they welcome Ladbrokes League One leaders Ayr United to Glebe Park.

Dene Shields (knee) and Robert Thomson (thigh) were absent for the 1-0 victory last weekend and they will remain on the sidelines on Saturday.

Dods said: "We had a game plan at Forfar that saw us hit them on the break and, despite being at home, it is something that we may need to also try against Ayr.

"They attack you with great pace from all areas of the pitch so we will look to contain them and give them something to think about at the other end as well."

Ayr, undefeated in 11 games, are without Brian Gilmour and Craig Moore due to their respective hamstring and groin issues.

Manager Ian McCall is looking for a 90-minute performance from his side as he explained: "We enjoyed a 3-1 win over a good Stranraer team last Saturday, however our first-half display was pretty slack.

"We were much better in the second half when we tightened things up and played as a team. I am delighted that Jordan Preston started scoring again.

"We will need that tight approach for 90 minutes at Brechin as they will be boosted by their win last weekend."
