Queens Park Rangers vs Preston North End - Neil Warnock back in the dug-out for QPR against Preston

Neil Warnock takes charge of QPR for the visit of Preston following Chris Ramsey's sacking in midweek.

Former Hoops manager Warnock, who recently returned to Loftus Road in an advisory role, will be back in the dug-out while the club begin the search for a new head coach.

The veteran boss will be without James Perch through suspension and fellow defender Clint Hill, who has a knee injury, while winger Jamie Mackie remains sidelined by a hamstring problem.

Tjaronn Chery, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Massimo Luongo could return after they were left out of the squad for the midweek defeat at Derby.

John Welsh is suspended for Preston's trip to Loftus Road.

The midfielder accrued his fifth caution of the season in the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night and must now serve a one-game ban.

Captain Tom Clarke is close to a return from a shoulder problem but North End have kept four clean sheets on the spin so the defender may find it difficult to break into the starting line-up.

Jermaine Beckford (knee) and Chris Humphrey (shin) are the Lilywhites' two long-term injury absentees.
