Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has told his teammates to toughen up following their 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Bayern Munich earlier this week, the Daily Star reports.
The defeat leaves the club’s hopes of making it to the next round of the Champions League hanging in the balance and needing victories in their final two games against Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos.
And Cech, who lifted the Champions League trophy with Chelsea in 2012, was left distinctly unimpressed with the way his new teammates folded.
"We need to do better defensively, be more aggressive because we allowed them too much time on the ball," he said. "Bayern were superior to us in every single way.
"To win games you need to make sure you get things in our favour then you can go through.
"It has been a tough time in the group but now we have to make sure that we win our games and that the head-to-head against Olympiakos is in our favour and then we can go through."
