The Gunners are on red alert as the Serie A side are ready to allow the 21-year-old to leave the club on loan, according to talkSPORT.
The Italian central defender has been an unused substitute 11 times in the league this season, a statistic which is causing his development to stagnate.
Arsene Wenger is an admirer of the youngster and is looking to add depth in defence to maintain his side's Premier League challenge.
