Paul Scholes: Does Van Gaal “have a problem” with forward players?

Paul Scholes has taken another swipe at Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal by questioning why he’s allowed so many talented attacking players to leave the club during his spell in charge, as reported by BT Sport.
United have struggled to fashion many chances of late, and after drawing three consecutive games 0-0, Van Gaal was criticised by the club’s legendary midfielder for implementing a boring style of play at Old Trafford.
They finally ended their barren spell in front of goal in last night’s match against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League, as Wayne Rooney’s 79th minute header handed them a vital 1-0 win. However Scholes, who was working as a pundit for BT Sport, remained unimpressed.
The United legend said: "You have to say, does he have a problem with forward players, players that can beat people?
"Look at the players that he’s let go: (Robin) Van Persie, (Danny) Welbeck, (Javier) Hernandez, (Adnan) Januzaj, (Angel) Di Maria. I’d love to see these players at the club now."
Although United have the highest average possession rate in the Premier League this season with 55%, they’ve struggled to turn that dominance into goals, creating the lowest number of chances in the league with 81.
