PSV Eindhoven vs Wolfsburg - Julian Draxler: Double over PSV would be 'huge step' for Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg can secure their place in Europe in early 2016 by completing a double over PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night.

Having beaten their Dutch rivals at home a fortnight ago, Wolfsburg can ensure at least PSV will finish behind them in the group with another win in Holland, thus ensuring they will at least be in the Europa League after Christmas.

Three points would also boost their hopes of remaining in the Champions League next year, leaving them potentially needing just one more point from their remaining group games against Manchester United and CSKA Moscow.

"A win in Eindhoven would be a huge step for us," said midfielder Julian Draxler, who netted the winner in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, a result which lifted the Wolves to third in the Bundesliga.

"If we get the three points, then it would look very good for us reaching the last 16, and I'm hoping we are going to get a few more games (in Europe this season)."

A point would also leave Wolfsburg in a strong position to qualify, but Andre Schurrle insists they will be "playing for victory" in Eindhoven.

"We're always good for a point away from home, but we know also that we can beat Eindhoven," he said in the Ruhr Nachrichten.

PSV will be looking to avoid a third straight defeat in Group B, but defender Jeffrey Bruma has warned they will not get anything if they repeat the mistakes they made at the weekend.

They threw away a 3-0 lead over De Graafschap before going on to win 6-3, but not without a scare.

"We want to win both of our home games against Wolfsburg and CSKA, but we've got to be sharper than we were against De Graafschap, there's no doubt about that," he told De Telegraaf.

"Wolfsburg have a good team and we saw that last time we played them, but we're certainly not without a chance.

"With our own fans behind us, we have more of a chance."
