Lazio vs AC Milan - Lazio hope for more home comforts against AC Milan

Lazio are hoping to maintain their perfect home record on Sunday but a rejuvenated AC Milan will have other ideas.

Wednesday's 2-1 defeat at Atalanta was Lazio's fourth defeat away from the Stadio Olimpico and with just one win collected on the road, Lazio have had to rely on their impressive form in the capital to remain sixth in the Serie A standings.

The Biancoceleste have won all eight of their games in Rome, including six in the league, scoring 11 goals and conceding just one in the process.

"It's clear that we have to do better away from home," Lazio coach Stefano Pioli told Lazio Style Radio.

"But this defeat (against Atalanta) only gives us more determination to face our next game. We need to focus on the good things we have done and try to grow on the other aspects which we are struggling with.

"We should have won at Atalanta considering the chances we had and I expect a reaction from my players against Milan."

A win on Sunday would be a big boost in confidence for Lazio ahead of next Thursday's Europa League clash in Norway against Rosenborg.

Milan, who are two points adrift of Lazio in eighth place, have not beaten Lazio at the Olimpico since November 2009.

They travel to Rome looking to make it three wins in a row.

The Rossoneri, coached by former Lazio player Sinisa Mihajlovic, followed their 2-1 win over Sassuolo with Wednesday's 1-0 triumph over Chievo.

Luca Antonelli's goal earned Milan three points while the Rossoneri kept a clean sheet for the first time this season in midweek.

"It was important for us to win two straight games and we have to continue to play like this," AC Milan's Brazilian defender Alex told his club's official website.

"We are on the right path. On Sunday we have an important game and we need to try to defend well and score.

"Our aim is to win in Rome and hand in another solid performance."

Milan are still without injured strikers Mario Balotelli and Jeremy Menez.

The hosts will be bolstered by the return of Stefan Radu and Mauricio while Marco Parolo and Keita are sidelined through injury.
