Balague: Cristiano Ronaldo planning to leave Real Madrid for PSG this summer

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently busy planning his exit strategy from Real Madrid, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

Balague told Talksport today that Ronaldo is set to leave the Bernabeu this summer, or failing that, the following summer; in whichever case, Ronaldo won’t be finishing his career in Madrid, if you trust Balague.

The Spanish football expert has written a biography on Ronaldo and is one of the most well-informed journos around, so his word carries some weight.

Having now broken Madrid’s goalscoring record, it seems there is less reason for him to retire at the Bernebeu, and one final lucrative move would undoubtedly please Jorge Mendes.

He claims that PSG is the most likely destination; as much as he loves Manchester United and yearns to play at Old Trafford again one day, he can’t envisage himself living in Manchester again, according to Balague:

"Next he’s leaving Real Madrid.

"The strategy is in place from his people to leave this summer, if the money is there and Paris Saint-Germain are willing to pay it and Real Madrid feel it is the right time to let him go.

"He idolises Manchester United. The fans, the atmosphere and the club, but the club is in a different place now.

"But why would they spend €125million, plus playing him 20-odd million per year, why would they do that at this stage?

"PSG are willing to pay for him, he is happy to move on when he feels the time is right, but remember what happened at Manchester United, where he wanted to leave a year before he actually did, so if it’s not this summer it’ll be next summer."
