Cowdenbeath meet Dunfermline for a third time this season with skipper John Armstrong absent with a hamstring injury.

A knee problem also keeps Lewis Milne on the sidelines for the hosts who are still unable to hand a debut to summer signing Jack Beaumont due to a foot injury.

After suffering 5-1 and 7-1 defeats at the hands of the Pars earlier in the campaign player/manager Colin Nish is looking for much better from his Cowdenbeath side.

"We won well last weekend at Stranraer so we can go into this game with confidence," he said.

"The previous games with Dunfermline were at their place however the pitch is much more restrictive at Central Park and that will suit us."

Dunfermline are again without Josh Falkingham (back) while Callum Fordyce and Ryan Williamson remain out having both suffered broken legs in the early weeks of the season.

Manager Allan Johnston is paying his side's hosts the maximum respect despite their earlier successes as he explained: "Cowdenbeath have picked up quite a bit since the start of the season. They have changed round their team quite a bit as well so this will be a difficult game.

"We were excellent against Forfar last weekend where we scored four goals and kept a clean sheet and another performance of that standard is required to win this one."
