Airdrie United vs Albion Rovers FC - Airdrie miss duo for derby clash with Albion

Airdrie will be without injured pair Scott Smith and Jim Lister when they host Lanarkshire neighbours Albion Rovers.

Midfielder Smith is absent with a knee injury while Lister misses out through a groin problem, with the forward to undergo surgery on the issue next week.

Having seen his side win just one of their last five League One fixtures, manager Gary Bollan is demanding an improvement in performance from his Diamonds after last weekend's 2-0 defeat to Peterhead.

"We never got the basics of our game right at Balmoor and never passed the ball as we could. We need to do a lot better against an Albion Rovers side who have moved above us in the table. We will go out and be positive but this will be a difficult game," he said.

Albion will only be missing striker Callum McRobbie - who has a knee injury - as they look to gain revenge for a 3-1 defeat from Airdrie earlier in the season.

Player/manager Darren Young said: "We actually played really well that day and were very unlucky to lose. I still don't know how we were behind at half-time but we can go to Airdrie without any fear and with nothing to lose.

"It is great that we are sitting third in the table however we are not getting over-excited by it. If it was week 35 I would be excited but not at the moment."
