Coventry vs Peterborough United - Coventry boss Mowbray considers Armstrong rest

Posted Friday, October 30, 2015 by PA

Coventry continue to be without Reda Johnson, who is expected to be out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

James Maddison remains sidelined until the New Year but Jordan Willis is closing in on a return following a knee problem while Bryn Morris has joined York after being recalled from his loan at the Sky Blues by Middlesbrough.

Boss Tony Mowbray admitted he is considering resting eight-goal top scorer Adam Armstrong to ensure the Newcastle lonaee avoids burnout.

"You have to look after players and employ a degree of rotation, especially in the final third because that's where you need to be dynamic so there's more danger of players picking up injuries," he told the Coventry Telegraph.

Peterborough could remain unchanged for the trip.

The Posh were 4-0 winners against Doncaster last weekend and boss Graham Westley could well opt to keep the same XI.

Andrew Fox is pushing for his full debut having come on as a substitute in the win.

Striker Kyle Vassell may also feature after he scored twice during the reserves' 6-1 midweek win at MK Dons.
