Cardiff vs Bristol City - Cardiff looking to keep up with Championship promotion pack

Cardiff will aim to continue their impressive home form in the Sky Bet Championship when they host Bristol City on Monday night.

Russell Slade's men head into the first meeting between the teams for more than two-and-a-half years on a high after their midweek win over Middlesbrough.

The hosts will target another three points to keep in touch with the seven teams above them - especially with four of them winning on Saturday - at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Steve Cotterill's side were unlucky not to build on their three-game unbeaten run after suffering a late defeat at league leaders Brighton on Tuesday, but know another defeat could see them drop into the relegation zone.

Cardiff, who have won four of their last five home matches, have Joe Ralls is back in contention after missing Tuesday's game with a hamstring injury, but striker Kenwyne Jones remains sidelined with a shin problem so Alex Revell is expected to lead the line again.

The visitors could name an unchanged starting team, although forward Simon Cox is pushing for a start after coming off the bench to make his debut at Brighton. If he is named among the substitutes, Aaron Wilbraham and Jonathan Kodjia will spearhead the attack.
