Empoli 2 - 0 Genoa: Empoli add to Genoa's away-day blues
Posted Saturday, October 24, 2015 by PA
Genoa's travel sickness continued as they went down 2-0 to Empoli in Serie A on Saturday.
Rade Krunic scored moments before half-time for the hosts, and Piotr Zielinski's 57th-minute goal wrapped up three points which help Empoli edge away from the bottom three in the table.
Genoa have taken nine points from 12 at home, but only one on the road all season and found themselves outplayed here by a struggling side.
Krunic struck a low shot off Manuel Pucciarelli's cross to beat Mattia Perrin to his left in the 44th minute, and after Massimo Maccarone's shot cannoned off the bar just before the hour, Zielinski was on hand to nod in the rebound and kill Genoa off.
