Bristol Rovers vs Newport County - Easter set for Bristol Rovers recall against Newport

Jermaine Easter is set for a Bristol Rovers recall as the Pirates seek their first Sky Bet League Two home win since the end of August against bottom club Newport.

Easter started Tuesday's goalless home draw with Notts County on the bench after winning his appeal against the red card he received at Mansfield last weekend earlier in the day.

But Easter did play the entire second half in midweek after Ellis Harrison suffered a hamstring injury, and the Wales Under-21 international looks set to be missing.

Rovers are unbeaten in five games in all competitions but have failed to win at the Memorial Ground in the league since beating Barnet 3-1 on August 22.

John Sheridan is looking to build on a first win for the Exiles as they head to in-form Rovers.

The win over Wycombe during the week was just the second victory of the season for Newport.

Andrew Hughes (knee) and Nathan Ralph (hamstring) made their respective returns from injury in a reserve game on Wednesday, but are some way from full fitness, with Hughes absent from first-team action since last December.

Scott Boden, who hit his fourth goal of the season in the 2-0 win on Tuesday, is pushing for a recall but Sheridan is likely to name an unchanged side after admitting to having no injury concerns.
