Brighton & Hove Albion vs Preston North End - Brighton to check on fitness of Gordon Greer ahead of Preston visit

Championship leaders Brighton will check on skipper Gordon Greer ahead of the visit of Preston.

Scotland defender Greer missed Tuesday night's 2-1 win over Bristol City after suffering a knee injury against Leeds at the weekend.

Winger Kazenga LuaLua is closing in on a return after a month out with a hamstring injury and his fitness will also be assessed.

Striker Bobby Zamora could find himself among the subs again despite climbing off the bench to hit late winners in Brighton's last two matches.

Preston will get striker Joe Garner back from suspension for the trip.

The forward, who is still yet to score this term after finding the net 27 times last season, has served a three-match suspension but may struggle to win back his starting spot after Tuesday's 3-0 win away at Charlton.

Defender Paul Huntington (calf) made his comeback off the bench against the Addicks while captain Tom Clarke (shoulder) is due to be assessed again after missing out.

Back-up goalkeeper Chris Kirkland (back) should take his place among the replacements but Paddy McCarthy (knee), Chris Humphrey (shin) and Jermaine Beckford (knee) are all long-term absentees.
