Ancelotti shares his thoughts on Mourinho’s job security at Chelsea

Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti strongly believes that the board will stick with Jose Mourinho despite the club’s bad start to the season, as per Goal.

Chelsea’s attempts to retain their title so far have been little short of woeful and the recent speculation regarding Mourinho’s job security at Stamford Bridge was inevitable.

The Blues’ track record has been one of ruthlessness as far as managerial turnaround is concerned, but as the club themselves have outline, Mourinho has their full trust and Ancelotti believes he will be the exception to Chelsea’s rule.

"I don’t think Mourinho will be sacked, absolutely not," the Italian said. "He has changed little from last season and he’s at a club that he knows very well. Plus, the club knows Mourinho very well.

"Jose is one of the top coaches of all time and if anyone can turn it around he is the person."

Mourinho’s track record of success speaks for itself — the Portuguese has dominated in four different leagues now but this is arguably his poorest start to a season to date.

Chelsea have already lost more games this time around (4) than they did during all of last season (3) and sit in an unflattering 12th place in the Premier League.

Chelsea have an average pass accuracy of 83% in the Premier League this season.

Mourinho himself has insisted that he is entitled to one poor season thanks to his track record, as per Sky Sports, and that his career is "not normal" and that his 22 titles in 15 years is “too much” and opens him up to excessive criticism.

The Blues last night played out a 0-0 draw against Dinamo Kiev in Ukraine, during which Eden Hazard, Nemanja Matic and Gary Cahill returned to the starting line-up.

Chelsea created only eight chances overall but did manage to register five shots on target and hit the woodwork; following the final whistle, what’s more, Mourinho expressed his view that Cesc Fabregas should have been awarded a penalty during the first half.
