Wolves vs Brentford - Wolves sweating on midfielder Dave Edwards for Brentford clash

Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards will undergo a late fitness test ahead of Wednesday's Sky Championship home clash with Brentford.

Edwards is in contention to make his return after missing Sunday's 4-2 loss at Derby due to a groin injury, although it is thought this weekend's visit of Middlesbrough might be a more realistic target.

Striker Adam Le Fondre has sustained a hand problem that is not expected to prevent him from playing against the Bees.

Defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell has been ruled out for up to a month with a broken foot.

Brentford manager Lee Carsley is expected to name the same squad that defeated Rotherham 2-1 on Saturday.

Sam Saunders, Lewis Macleod, Marcos Tebar and Scott Hogan are all back in training, but Wednesday's fixture is likely to come too soon for them.

Carsley, who experienced victory as Brentford manager for the first time on Saturday, still has a lengthy injury list, even with those four returning.

Josh McEachran (foot), Jota (ankle) and Andreas Bjelland (knee) are all long-term absentees.
