Claudio Marchisio was born in Turin and wants to finish his career at Juventus, according to the club's chief executive Giuseppe Marotta.
Juventus have claimed they have rejected several offers for Claudio Marchisio, including one from Liverpool, insisting that the Italy midfielder wants to finish his career with the Serie A champions, according to the Turin club’s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta.
Marchisio has been linked with a move to Anfield to work under the club’s new manager Jürgen Klopp, but Marotta believes the 29-year-old is going nowhere – despite Juventus receiving "several offers".
"We get so many offers for our players, but we are used to buying - not selling," Marotta told Premium Sport shortly before Juventus’s 0-0 draw at Internazionale on Sunday evening.
"We have renewed with him, our focus is strong and I think Claudio’s first thought is to finish his career here. Not only Liverpool, we have received several offers."
Marchisio, a Juventus youth product, signed a five-year contract in July to remain at the club until June 2020.
Marotta also spoke of turning down offers for the coveted France international Paul Pogba. "There were offers from other clubs formalised, but we have rejected them because Paul is the heritage of the club," Marotta said. "Maybe we have loaded him with many responsibilities, but this will help him to become a leader."
