Atalanta brushed aside Carpi 3-0 on Sunday afternoon to maintain their unbeaten run at home.
Mauricio Pinilla's close-range header from Maximiliano Moralez's cross put the Bergamaschi on their way in the seventh minute.
The hosts doubled their lead two minutes before the break when Alejandro Gomez's hard drive from outside the area beat goalkeeper Vid Belec.
Luca Cigarini all but sealed victory in the 63rd minute when he converted a penalty after Pinilla was brought down in the area by Carpi defender Igor Bubnjic.
Carpi, still without a win on the road, have now lost five games while Atalanta kept a clean sheet for the third time this season.
