FIFA investigating Neymar deal

FIFA confirmed they are examining a complaint from Santos that Neymar's transfer to Barcelona in 2013 breached regulations.

The Campeonato Paulista champions lodged a grievance with world football's governing body in May, but the matter has only been brought to light now after reports in Brazil falsely claimed Neymar's former club is pushing for his suspension.
The Peixe believe the Brazil international and his agents acted unlawfully when they opened contract negotiations with Barca, which had been done without the consent of his employers, who only want to "protect their rights and seek reparation of damages."
Santos president Modesto Roma urged FIFA to act as courts in both Brazil and Spain had already ruled that there were irregularities regarding the transfer.
Roma told the Esports Cope radio show: "I presented the official complaint in May. Despite being an idol, we will denounce Neymar because there are things we do not agree with.
"In the transfer, things were not done in a clear and transparent way. That is proven in the Brazilian courts and by the Spanish prosecutors.
"We understand the administrative discussion we must have with FIFA. There are things not done right, and FIFA must make a ruling."
FIFA said "the matter is currently pending and being investigated" but refused to comment "nor to give an estimation of the time line" of the investigation.
