Carlisle vs Exeter City - On-loan Newcastle duo to return for Carlisle

Carlisle boss Keith Curle will include on-loan Newcastle pair Alex Gilliead and Macaulay Gillesphey in his squad for the home game against Exeter.

Striker Gilliead, who has returned from international duty with England Under-20s, and defender Gillesphey both agreed this week to extend their stay with the Cumbrians.

Jabo Ibehre (hamstring) has an outside chance of making the squad after his three-game absence and fellow striker Charlie Wyke (foot) has stepped up his training but both remain major doubts.

Midfielders Antony Sweeney and Steven Rigg are pushing for recalls, while Carlisle have lost their last two home matches.

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale is set to be without three key midfielders for the lengthy trip.

A combination of injury and suspension has hit the Grecians, with David Noble missing after picking up his fifth booking of the season during last weekend's 3-3 draw with Stevenage.

Captain Matt Oakley limped off during the second half of that match while Ryan Harley is set to be sidelined by the injury he sustained in City's Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat by Plymouth earlier this month.

"That is the three principal central midfield players who will be out," Tisdale told the Express and Echo.
