Bristol City vs Nottingham Forest - Bristol City hope to have duo available to tackle Nottingham Forest

Korey Smith and Liam Moore could return to the Bristol City squad against Nottingham Forest.

Smith suffered a groin injury during the defeat to Reading on September 19 but the midfielder has benefited from the international break and might be back in contention on Friday night.

On-loan Leicester defender Moore underwent a hernia operation at the turn of the month but he has now resumed training.

City manager Steve Cotterill, who was in charge of Forest between October 2011 and July 2012, remains without Scott Wagstaff after the midfielder suffered a setback in his recovery from a calf complaint.

The visitors have problems at right-back with their first three choices for the position all unavailable.

Eric Lichaj, Reds boss Dougie Freedman's first choice, must serve a one-match suspension after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season during the home defeat to Hull, while Matt Mills is also banned as he was sent off against the Tigers.

In the same game, Michael Mancienne and Kyle Ebecilio came off with hamstring injuries and both players are out for six weeks.

The shortage may see Freedman change his formation at Ashton Gate while elsewhere, striker Dexter Blackstock should be back in contention after illness and defender Kelvin Wilson (back) will be assessed.
