Liverpool have had a rollercoaster week with Jurgen Klopp arriving at the club to take over from Brendan Rodgers and he’s now preparing his team for their first game away at Tottenham Hotspur under his rule.
The German is a class act in managerial terms and was very successful at Borussia Dortmund so will now try and implement his style at Liverpool, too.
It’s a very exciting time at the club, so here’s a round-up of the latest news from Anfield.
Liverpool duo Jordon Ibe and Joe Gomez are disappointed to see Brendan Rodgers sacked as manager, according to Gareth Southgate. The young pair were both given their debuts at the club by Rodgers and were handed opportunities in the first-team thanks to the northern Irishman. Gomez has won ten tackles this season. (Sky Sports)
Liverpool may have to stump up €20 million (£15m) to land a young forward from Belgian Pro League champions Gent. Jurgen Klopp is interested in signing Gent’s Moses Simon and could urge the owners make a move in the January transfer window. Liverpool have scored just eight league goals this season. (Express)
Jurgen Klopp has decided that he wants a deal done for Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. The midfielder has been in good form this season, completing 88% of his passes and being successful with 81% of his take-ons. (Tutto Mercato Web)
Finally, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that he has heard Carlo Ancelotti was offered the Liverpool job earlier this month but did not want it. Spurs have the joint-best defence in the league with just seven conceded. (talkSPORT)
