Walsall vs Burton Albion FC - International call-ups force Walsall to make changes

Posted Friday, October 09, 2015 by PA

Walsall will make at least two changes for the top-of-the-table clash against Burton.

Goalkeeper Neil Etheridge and right-back Jason Demetriou, who have helped the second-placed Saddlers keep successive clean sheets, are unavailable as they are away on international duty with the Philippines and Cyprus respectively.

Craig MacGillivray will fill in between the posts as he did during last month's international weekend while Rico Henry is likely to deputise for Demetriou.

Isaiah Osbourne is still awaiting his Walsall debut as he continues to struggle with a knee problem.

Abdenasser El Khayati is a slight concern for the league leaders after he was forced off with a knock last weekend.

Fellow forward Aurelien Joachim is away on international duty with Luxembourg and his absence is likely to see Zeli Ismail included on the Burton bench.

Ismail has not featured at all yet this campaign after suffering a knee injury during pre-season but the on-loan Wolves winger has been training and is expected to make a long-awaited return to the squad.

Midfielder Callum Reilly (groin) has undergone a scan and remains out while the versatile Darius Charles is nearing a return from a broken leg.
