Chesterfield vs Gillingham - Chesterfield manager Dean Saunders set to shuffle his pack

Posted Friday, October 09, 2015 by PA

Chesterfield boss Dean Saunders will make changes to his starting line-up when the Spireites resume league action against Gillingham.

Saunders swapped five players against Rochdale on Tuesday night in their Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat and the team that takes to the field on Saturday will more closely resemble the one that began last weekend's win at Crewe.

Ian Evatt suffered a broken hand against the Alex and it remains to be seen if the central defender will be restored to the side.

Forward Lee Novak (thigh) is rated at 50/50 to end his four-match absence.

Gills boss Justin Edinburgh also made five changes in midweek for his side's JPT tie against Luton.

The likes of John Egan, Josh Wright, Bradley Dack and Rory Donnelly are expected to return to the starting line-up at the Proact Stadium.

Captain Doug Loft will be checked, as he was rested on Tuesday night because of an Achilles problem.

Adedeji Oshilaja continues to nurse a knee injury and the central defender will remain out.
