David de Gea more 'mature' after failed Real Madrid move

David de Gea could well be regretting not having moved to Real Madrid this summer, but if he is then he’s doing a very good job of hiding it.
The Spaniard signed a new Old Trafford deal and was reinstated as starting goalkeeper after missing out on a summer transfer, but he explained how the experience had helped him mature as a player.
The 24-year-old admitted the ordeal was tough, but said he was grateful to all those at Manchester United who tried to help him at the time - the last was that both Real and United blame each other for said deal breaking down. Elsewhere, Daley Blind has revealed which position he feels most comfortable playing at Old Trafford and, perhaps surprisingly, it’s at centre-back.
The Dutchman was signed on the back on a brilliant World Cup showing last year at left-back, but he’s been moved into the centre to combat United’s lack of options.
