Former Internazionale winger Ezequiel Schelotto is hoping to earn a deal at Leicester after claiming talks with the Premier League side.
The 26-year-old is currently a free agent, having been without a club since his contract with the Nerazzurri was terminated by mutual consent in August.
Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri recently dismissed the idea of signing Schelotto as "speculation", but the Argentine is keen to follow in the footsteps of compatriot Esteban Cambiasso, who spent last season at the King Power Stadium.
Cambiasso was voted Supporters' Player of the Year after helping the West Midlands outfit secure their Premier League survival last term, and Schelotto is confident of making a similar impact with them should he sign.
"I'd like to play there and I'm ready to get back into action," the 26-year-old told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I don't know what stage the negotiations are at with Leicester, but if Cambiasso can do well there, then I'm sure I can too.
"I would never have imagined I'd find myself without a club at the age of 26. Now I'm waiting for a gift - a new club."
