MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly been told to back off from Thomas Muller.
The Red Devils were continually linked with a move for the Bayern Munich striker over the summer.
Louis van Gaal's side were believed to have offered £71million for the 26-year-old.
But according to Bild, United have been informed they will be wasting their time putting in offers for Muller.
The paper chief football writer, Christian Falk, tweeted: "Rummenigge, @FCBayern: "I told Woodward, that I can't switch of my Email-account, so he should stop sending offers for @esmuellert_" @ManUtd."

United ended up signing Anthony Martial for £36m in the summer instead.
But Muller, who has scored eight goals in 10 matches for Bayern this term, appears to be out of reach.
