Hannover 96 1 : 0 Werder Bremen - Hannover stop rot to turn up heat on Werder Bremen
Posted Sunday, October 04, 2015 by PA
Hannover eased the pressure on coach Michael Frontzeck with a 1-0 win over Werder Bremen to instead turn up the heat on visiting boss Viktor Skripnik.
Salif Sane scored the only goal of the game early in the second half, rising highest inside the area to head home.
The Reds then counted on goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler to preserve their lead as he looked to prove a point to Germany coach Joachim Low, who left him out of his latest squad, with a series of eye-catching saves.
Hannover's win lifts them off the foot of the table and to within just two points of their northern rivals, who have lost their last four games.
