Hertha BSC Berlin 3 - 0 Hamburger : Hertha Berlin maintain early season momentum with convincing win over Hamburg

Posted Sunday, October 04, 2015 by PA

Hertha Berlin moved up to fourth in the Bundesliga on Saturday thanks to a 3-0 win over Hamburg at the Olympiastadion.

Salomon Kalou gave Hertha the lead in the 17th minute, turning on the edge of the area before sending his low shot past Jaroslav Drobny.

Vedad Ibisevic made it two for Berlin in the 77th minute, turning in Tolga Cigerci's low cross from six yards out, before adding the third just minutes later - keeping his cool when put through on goal by Alexander Baumjohann to seal victory.

It was the second game in a row that the Bosnia and Herzegovina forward has bagged a brace - his 17th in the Bundesliga and one which was worth a place in a Champions League qualifying berth for the Old Lady, at least for a night.
