Ayr Utd. vs Cowdenbeath - Ayr wait on Adams fitness

Jamie Adams is the only injury concern for Ayr ahead of the visit of Cowdenbeath.

Adams is a slight doubt and United boss Ian McCall will make a late check on the midfielder.

McCall otherwise has everyone else fit and available and he is looking for his men to handle being league leaders.

"Every game in a 10-team league comes with pressure," said McCall. "Last season there was pressure because we were fighting four lives and this season there is a different pressure as we are a target because we are in top spot.

"We have to show that we can handle that and show that, despite Cowdenbeath having a number of very useful players, how we play will determine how this game goes."

Cowdenbeath travel to Somerset Park without three players.

Dean Brett is suspended while Jack Beaumont (foot) and Lewis Milne (knee) are ruled out through injury.

Additionally, Andy Murdoch and Greig Spence will both need to prove their fitness before considered for selection.

Ahead of the game, Cowdenbeath player/manager Colin Nish said: "Our defeat at Brechin last weekend felt like a step back after making steps forward in our previous three games.

"I will resist the temptation to make a raft of changes as the boys deserve a second chance after good results against Peterhead and Forfar.

"Ayr will be a leading side all season but we will go there and give getting the three points a real go."
