Atalanta 2 - 1 Sampdoria : Win over Sampdoria lifts Atalanta into top eight

Atalanta moved up to eighth in Serie A and above opponents Sampdoria with a 2-1 victory at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.
The home side opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Samp defender Niklas Moisander attempted to clear a speculative cross from Boukary Drame but sliced the ball past his own goalkeeper.
German Denis added Atalanta's second in the first minute of time added on as he played a neat one-two with Maxi Moralez and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
There was still time for Sampdoria to pull a goal back as Roberto Soriano drilled in a cutback from Edgar Barreto, but there was no time for an equaliser.
