Marseille 1 - 2 Angers SCO: Marseille fall to shock defeat against Angers
Posted Sunday, September 27, 2015 by PA
Marseille's recent unbeaten run came to an abrupt end with a shock 2-1 defeat at home to surprise package Angers.
The visitors stunned the Stade Velodrome seven minutes before the interval when Remy Cabella clumsily brought down Bouka Moutou inside the area before Thomas Mangani despatched the resulting spot-kick.
And Michel's team's woes intensified midway through the second-half, despite dominating, when Romain Thomas headed Billy Ketkeophomphone's free-kick beyond Steve Mandanda.
The hosts were offered hope with 10 minutes left when Michy Batshuayi also converted from the penalty spot after Fode Dore fouled Lucas Ocampos but, despite late efforts from L'OM, Angers left the velodrome with all three points.
