Northampton Town 1 - 1 Leyton Orient : Dean Cox snatches Orient a point in dramatic end to Northampton clash

Dean Cox grabbed a last-gasp equaliser to earn Leyton Orient a 1-1 draw at Northampton.

Both goals came deep into stoppage-time with Dominic Calvert-Lewin having looked to have won it for Cobblers.

The leaders made the early running with Ollie Palmer heading over and Mathieu Baudry failing to keep his header down from a corner. Top scorer Jay Simpson was off target with a volley and then saw a header deflected wide.

Orient continued to create chances and Cox saw his goalbound effort blocked for a corner. But Northampton struggled to create openings before Calvert-Lewin headed well wide.

Simpson went close with an acrobatic effort which flew just wide, but Zander Diamond should have done better for the home side when he headed wide just before the break.

Adam Smith produced a reflex save to keep out Palmer's header after the restart and then foiled the striker with an even better save moments later.

Calvert-Lewin headed over at the other end but Orient dominated the second half and Smith denied Baudry from close range before twice thwarting Simpson with point-blank saves.

Alex Cisak was finally called upon to deny Nicky Adams. But in the third minute of stoppage-time Adams' inswinging corner was headed home by Calvert-Lewin via the crossbar, only for Cox to equalise in the final minute with a curling 25-yard free-kick.
