Dunfermline vs Airdrie United preview - Marc McAusland set for Dunfermline bow against Airdrie

Dunfermline have added former St Mirren defender Marc McAusland ahead of the visit of Airdrie.

Shaun Rooney should return after missing Tuesday's extra-time defeat to Dundee United in the Scottish League Cup due to injury.

Jason Talbot should also be available after he picked up a knock at Tannadice, however broken legs keep Callum Fordyce and Ryan Williamson out and Lewis Spence (shoulder) is also sidelined.

Manager Allan Johnston said: "I was disappointed for the players that we lost in midweek as they deserved better. Hopefully we can bounce back against a very well organised Airdrie side who had been on a very decent run until last weekend."

Airdrie striker Taylor Morgan is a major doubt after injuring his neck in the 2-1 defeat to Ayr last weekend.

Jim Lister is the only confirmed absentee with a groin injury.

Manager Gary Bollan said: "Our recent good run has come to an end in an unlucky fashion. There were a couple of mistakes made that were punished severely but overall we continued to play at the high level we have been playing at for a number of weeks.

"This will be a difficult game and whilst we have been playing well I watched Dunfermline in midweek at Tannadice and they were impressive, particularly in the first half."
