Birmingham vs Rotherham United preview - David Cotterill a doubt for Birmingham's clash with Rotherham

David Cotterill is a doubt for Birmingham's clash with Rotherham after missing Tuesday's Capital One Cup derby defeat to Aston Villa.

The winger had to sit out at Villa Park after sustaining a heel injury in training on Monday.

Neal Eardley is out with a dislocated shoulder and is not expected to return for the St Andrew's side until the end of next month.

Birmingham have lost just once in the Sky Bet Championship this season and sit seventh, outside the play-offs on goal difference.

Rotherham defender Kirk Broadfoot could make his first appearance of the season having completed a 10-game suspension.

Broadfoot was handed a lengthy ban after being charged by the Football Association in the summer for verbally abusing James McClean in an alleged sectarian tirade during a defeat to Wigan in March.

The defender may return to the bench, but midfielder Lee Frecklington remains doubtful after missing the last two games due to a calf injury. Otherwise boss Steve Evans has a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Midfielder Emmanuel Ledesma, forward Chris Maguire and winger Danny Ward are among those pushing for starts as the Millers chase back-to-back league wins for the first time this season.
