Levante 2 - 2 Eibar: Levante hit back to make point against Eibar

Levante came back from 2-0 down to salvage a point at home to Eibar.

Borja thought he had handed Eibar their third win of the Primera Division campaign with a well-taken brace, but Levante hit back through Jose Luis Morales and Acosta Deyverson at the death to draw 2-2.

The point is enough to lift Levante out of the drop zone and up to 14th, while Eibar drop to seventh.

Eibar preyed on the uncertainty at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia straight away, forcing a succession of corners and eventually one of these made the difference.

Borja, on loan from Atletico Madrid, was the beneficiary as he latched on to Mauro Dos Santos' headed pass inside the box from a corner to nod home in the 10th minute.

The hosts toiled as they searched for an immediate reply, with Nabil Ghilas' wayward header from Antonio Tono's cross the closest they came after 16 minutes.

Verza was unlucky to see his volleyed effort hit a post after 35 minutes - and that was one of his last acts as Levante were forced into a double substitution just before the interval.

The former Almeria midfielder had to go off seemingly after suffering a knock but there was more concern for right-back Juanfran, who had to leave on a stretcher after being caught by goalscorer Borja.

Before Levante could get their second-half fightback off the ground they found themselves 2-0 down as Borja grabbed his second of the night by calmly stroking home after 48 minutes.

But the hosts had the perfect riposte this time when Morales, who had a spell on loan at Eibar two years ago, shot across goal to find the bottom-left corner four minutes later.

They salvaged an unlikely point deep into stoppage time as Deyverson scored a header as Morales turned provider with an inch-perfect cross.
