Ajaccio GFCO 1 - 1 Stade Rennais FC : Late heartbreak for Gazelec Ajaccio as Rennes snatch point

Gazelec Ajaccio brought an end to a five-match losing streak but had to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw with Rennes.

The hosts seemed on course for their first three points of the season when Mohamed Larbi sent a well-struck free-kick beyond Abdoulaye Diallo on the stroke of half-time.

With time running out on Rennes they almost levelled with two minutes remaining but Romain Danze could not direct a six-yard header on target from Kamil Grosicki's corner.

Ajaccio did not heed that warning, though, and Fallou Diagne and Danze combined well to tee-up Giovanni Sio who needed no second initiation to break the hosts' hearts with a close-range finish as added time approached.
