Sakho keen to slay more giants

West Ham forward Diafra Sakho is hopeful the side can maintain their giant-killing form this season after already seeing off Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Just six matches into the new campaign and it has already been a memorable one for the Hammers, who are third in the Premier League standings after recording some unexpected results.

The Hammers have won four matches and lost two so far, with three of those victories coming away from home against the Gunners, the Reds and the Citizens.

Their opening-day 2-0 win over Arsenal was followed by two defeats, before beating the Reds 2-0 and recording the same result over Newcastle United.

Most recently, they subjected table-toppers Manchester City to their first defeat of the top-flight campaign, and their only goals conceded, in a 2-1 win on Saturday.

Senegalese striker Sakho scored their second against City at the Etihad Stadium, and the 25-year-old is now targeting England's remaining big guns.

"These are amazing results," he told the club's official website. "I am very happy for the team that we have been able to win at Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City. They were all great performances.

"Every player has worked so hard for the team and had a big motivation to win the game. The manager (Slaven Bilic) spoke to every player and we knew we had to give 100 percent. Our tactics were very important.

"I wanted to score as I have only got one goal at Liverpool. As a striker I want to score and I am pleased to get my second goal at Manchester City. I want to score more goals next week.

"It is very important that we recover well and prepare for the Leicester game on Tuesday. This is a very long season and now we want victories at Manchester United and Chelsea!"

West Ham are set to face the Foxes in the League Cup third round at King Power Stadium on Tuesday, before taking on Norwich City at Upton Park in the league on Saturday.
