Leonardo: Roma are favourites

Former AC Milan and Inter manager Leonardo has labelled Roma as Serie A favourites, but also backed the two Milan sides to challenge Juventus for the title.

Inter currently sit top of the standings, having won all four matches so far, while the Rossoneri are down in ninth with two wins and two defeats, including in the derby against the Nerazzurri.

"Inter and Milan have given important signals, and overall that's good for the League," Leonardo said. "They are two of the teams who will fight for the Scudetto. When you get into a rhythm it increases your chances."

Juve have now won the league in the last four seasons, but the Bianconeri have started the new campaign with two defeats and a draw, before getting their first win against Genoa at the weekend, leaving them down in 13th.

Roma, meanwhile, are still undefeated with two draws and two wins placing them fourth in the standings, but the Giallorossi also held Barcelona to a 1-1 draw in the Champions League, and former Brazil international Leonardo considers them favourites.

"Juventus are coming back, not to mention their many wins in recent seasons," he added. "I don't see much difference between these sides, though Roma may have a bit more than all of them."
Milan are set to face Udinese on Tuesday, while Wednesday's matches include Juventus at home to Frosinone, Inter's clash with Hellas Verona, and Roma's visit to Sampdoria.
